Our people are our most valuable assets at Burtley and Wilmaston. We work with our farm teams to develop them and ensure there is career growth for them in the future.
Our staff are a key component to our business, so we take great care to invest in them and help them develop. This is achieved through participation in regular training courses and by being involved in management meetings and decisions.
Wherever possible our staff are recruited locally, benefitting the local job market. We also believe in supporting the next generation and in 2016 we hosted three students from Berkshire College of Agriculture for work experience, we are scheduled to host another two students this year.
We want our people to be highly trained and at the cutting edge of agriculture. In 2015 our farm manager Ed completed a specialist agricultural leadership course, and our other staff continue to participate in personalised development programmes.
Outside our business, we want to help educate future generations in agriculture and as a result host school visits and take on work experience students.
