Earlier this summer, in preparation for our new Portman Farms website, we all got up at the crack of dawn (much to the dismay of our marketing team) to photograph the sunrise over Burtley Farm. Here you can see our Hereford cows intrigued by the camera, with the early morning…
Welcome to Portman Farms. We manage and protect over 3,000 acres of farmland across Buckinghamshire and Herefordshire, which we have been running for almost 70 years. We have two farms, Wilmaston and Burtley, and our farm managers Ed and Mike take great care and pride in their work to deliver award winning working farms.

Burtley Farm
Burtley Farm spans 2,000 acres near the town of Beaconsfield. It was bought by The Portman Estate in 1948, and remains hugely important to the Estate to this day. What sets Burtley apart from other farms in the area is its award winning organic beef – supplied nationwide to Waitrose and a number of local businesses.

Wilmaston Farm
Wilmaston Farm, set in the rolling hills of Herefordshire, has been part of The Portman Estate for almost 50 years. With 800 ewes, 130 cows and a whole host of crops across 1,007 acres, Wilmaston is a local source for beef, lamb and arable, and works with the local community to educate the future of the farming world.

Our produce
Across our two farms we produce award winning organic beef, the highest quality crops including wheat and corn, and have an 800 strong flock of breeding ewes, to ensure that over 1,000 lambs are sold each year.

Our promise
We care deeply about the environment, and we have made a number of promises, to ensure our farms remain environmentally sound for future generations.

Sales
Our Organic Beef Boxes are now available to buy for £120 and can be collected directly from Burtley Farm on an allocated day.
