Burtley Farm, is made up of 2,000 acres of land in Buckinghamshire. It’s an organic beef farm at heart, but it also has a large forestry business, and a number of residential and commercial properties to rent.
Burtley’s cows are by far the most pampered herd in South Bucks, with Farmer Mike taking incredible care of his 200 South Devon herd of cattle. Each cow produces on calf a year, either in Spring. The calves stay with their mothers until they are nine months old, growing naturally on their rich milk.
Burtley Farm has been in the Portman family for almost 70 years, and we are extremely proud of the land and the cattle that the Farm team looks after. If you would like to visit the farm, or are interested in buying either cattle or beef please get in touch with us.
Living & Working at Burtley
At Burtley, we have over 30 cottages and barns which are available to rent. Just 20 minutes from Marylebone via Gerrards Cross station, Burtley Farm is accessible to London, but in the idyllic surrounds of the Buckinghamshire countryside. To make rural life even simpler, we have introduced our own broadband system, available to those who live and work on the Estate.
Burtley Farm has 403 hectares (around 1000 acres) of mixed woodland set within a fine rural landscape. The most ecologically important area of woodland is Egypt Wood, which makes up one third of the woodland at Burtley.
Burtley Farm has the following accreditations, of which we are extremely proud:
