Behind the scenes at our recent photoshoot at Burtley Farm

Earlier this summer, in preparation for our new Portman Farms website, we all got up at the crack of dawn (much to the dismay of our marketing team) to photograph the sunrise over Burtley Farm. Here you can see our Hereford cows intrigued by the camera, with the early morning light shining through the trees.

We spent the day photographing everything, from the forestry, to the commercial properties on the Estate, to the farm team themselves.

We were most excited by the prospect of having aerial shots, something long overdue for Burtley. We hired two drone pilots, who captured some stunning footage of life on the farm.

After initially being spooked by the camera, the herd got used to the buzzing of the drone, and we were able to film fantastic shots of the cattle out in the fields.

It was a baking hot day and so after 15 hours of shooting a trip to the local was definitely required – we can recommend the home-made pork pies at The Blackwood Arms!

And not to forget the night before… a midnight tractor photoshoot which I hope you’ll agree had pretty impressive results!

You can find the photos all across the website – and on our instagram @portmanfarms
